i'd like for our team to show up, that would be nice.

particularly the coaches on the offensive side of the ball

I have never understand the need to impress someone with how big a crowd our teams draws. Of all the things that should matter-- this seems the least important save the handful of people in the crowd who might be bowl representatives.

I always laugh at posters who remark "I was embarassed by how few came to our game"

ps-- I'm not laughing at you Ricky

this is a business

if you dont travel well-WHY WOULD A BOWL WANT YOU?

if things are equal the team that travels well gets picked

it is about selling tickets

in usf's case, our offense is so boring. We cant even argue we are entertaining

the bowl that takes usf is one that is contractually obligated

Once again, smazza is spot on.

From GA "Announced attendance for USF-Louisville was 33,412, a dropoff of more than 24,000 from announced 57,572 vs. Miami just six days earlier."

"Dropoff in actual attendance (fans in seats) even more dramatic for USF football. 46,245 for Miami on Saturday, 19,115 today vs Louisville."

They should have given away "I'm a diehard Bulls Fan" towels today-- we would have earned them.

Over/under on attendance for WVU on Thursday night. I say 45K - 25K "couch burners" & 20K USF fans

Less than 20k in attendance for a BCS conference game is cause for concern

When does this slump in our athletics program hit bottom?

Reminds me of the Seth Greenberg takes on adversity.

Thanks to the diehards for getting there today.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
