In actuality, they should just scrap ALL conferences and go back to the drawing board based on geographics. 8 conferences, champions do a playoff...A true SEC would be AL, GA and FL. Could anyone beat the top two teams in that conference? Imagine all the fun road trips and rivalries that would develop. NO big rivalries would be lost except maybe LSU with a few folks and the teams in Mississippi, TN and SC suck for the most part anyway...

This would probably have little bearing on USF's immediate (10 yrs or so) future. Should, by some miracle, USF win the Big East and get an invite to a major bowl we would have a UConn situation on our hand. We'd lose millions of dollars to buy the required seats and get our butts kicked a la the Sun Bowl. I don't know if the conference expansion has been put on hold because of these rumors, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that.

You will see a huge anti-trust suit happen if this occurs....

That my friend could be the best possible outcome for this situation.
