"Is 14 the right number? Will 16 be? I don't know if I'm in the minority, majority - I don't talk to anybody about this - but (it) seems to me that if you're going to go 14, then you should go 16."Link

Stay at 14.

Stay at 14. if ACC moves to 16, so will the other conferences... namely the SEC.ACC's top two choices are Notre Dame and UConn, or UConn and Rutgers.the SEC is already considering poaching Clemson, and FSU has been on their radar for the past couple years since all this expansion stuff started again. they're currently at 13, add Mizzou, Clemson and FSU (the teams with most rumors of leaving) and SEC has 16. that would leave the ACC needing to replace Clemson and FSU, and that's where we would come in.our moving up really depends on two dominos falling: the scramble to 16 (just need one conference to pull that trigger first), and whether or not FSU is poached by the SEC. Velcro Posted October 13, 2011 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 19,229 Reputation: 7 Days Won: 1 Joined: 01/14/2002 Share Posted October 13, 2011 Why would SEC feel obligated to go to 16 if the ACC did? SEC feels far superior to other conf. They aren't going to follow the ACC as if the ACC is a model for success unless they think it is in their best interest. Would it be? I could see them staying at 14 since no where does it seem eminent that 16 team mega conferences IS where where ware heading. It may be, but the SEC will likely be the ones that lead that charge, if it even happens.
