Honestly, I think we should have been ranked to start the season. There's a stupid bias against the Big East that doesn't exist against other leagues (I'm looking at you, ACC!) that have not been shown to be any better in recent memory.Cincy spanked NC State. UCD beat up on a bad BC team then lost to FIU who just lost yesterday to LA Lafayette. Temple spanked Maryland who beat Miami who beat Ohio State. Miami lost to K-State. And Clemson, who appear to be competing with Virginia Tech as the class of the conference, is solid and beat Auburn, but Auburn is not who they were last season. I'd like our chances against any team in the ACC. I like our chances against most of the Big Ten. I think we could hang with quite a bit of the SEC, though LSU and Bama would definitely be a problem. I think we can hang with all of the Big 12 except Oklahoma. Oklahoma, Alabama, and LSU are elite. We'll find out about Wisconsin and Nebraska next week. But I think we're about right. Wisconsin's beat up on SD was about what our beatdown on FAMU was. Our win against UTEP was more impressive than VT's win against Marshall and UTEP is a better opponent. I think we're about where we should be. We'll find out a lot on Thursday. If we go into Pittsburgh and can get a dominant win then talk should definitely start about our ability to win the Big East and run through our schedule. I know we've got the talent to beat everyone on our schedule. It's going to come down to execution and taking care of the ball.

And I mostly agree, but at least we have some traction. If we show up and perform like we can on Thursday then I think we'll move up again because some voters are holding off due to our history.A solid win on the road on a Thursday night will convince a lot of people - fans, voters, and maybe even some players. I'd just love to see 'em come out on a short weak and stomp Pitt into the ground.

If we were going to have some special teams and defensive gaffes, I am glad they happened last night so that they players will know what they need to do on Thurs. As for the rankings, I am glad we have some visibility. I am just saying personally, I need to see more for sure. The thing that tips the scale is that I think our new coach will keep the team focused this time around. I am hoping we don't see any road PITT or RU disasters this time around.

One of them is "Massey BCS" which is one of the six official BCS computers.
