Not surprising. At least those new shiny green helmets look good on that front page.

BIGGEST SURPRISE, TEAM: USF. The Bulls have a solid defense and tend to fare well on the big stage. Nonetheless, this was a landmark victory for USF. Notre Dame gave USF opportunities with turnovers, but the Bulls capitalized early and often.

I don't see anything negative in their statement about us

Neither did I.

Keep reading... the usual drivel

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT, TEAM: Notre Dame. It's as if that four-game winning streak to end the 2010 season never happened. Rather than building from that momentum, the Irish opened the 2011 campaign by gift-wrapping a game to USF. Notre Dame failed to score on four trips to the red zone and found a way to lose 23-20 despite gaining twice as many yards as USF.

We didn't win, they lost.

They did gift wrap it.  Anyone that doesn't think so is blinded by their green and gold glasses.  At least we took advantage of it.

I didn't notice any wrapping paper on the ball that was stripped out of running back's hands and returned for a TD.

I think the issue is... yes, ND gift wrapped the game. But, we don't know how it would have played out if we had NEEDED to score 20 points on offense. Clearly, after the 7-0 lead without our offense ever stepping on the field, the plan was to be conservative. When we needed a score, we worked the ball down field, BJ hit some good throws to Love, Griffin, and Shields, and we kept the chains moving.

On paper, it looks like we had to have every bit of help that ND gave us, but, in reality, I didn't see us trying to push the ball and make plays on offense. So, I can't say for sure how the game would have gone without the 5 turnovers. I still think we would have had a chance. This team wasn't just going to roll over and let ND have the game...

I agree. That was a forced fumble not just a guy dropping the ball when he got hit.  Big time defensive play.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
