Tyler is a beast... nicest kid too. Nature Coast bball is looking strong, expect another run at Lakeland next winter.

No shot for USF at this point though.

1 of the top forwards in the nation finally has an offer from South Florida. Demetrius Henry 6-8, 210, Oakland Park, FL, AAU:Team Breakdown, now has offers from VT and USF. He is being looked at by a lot of schools including Wake Forrest and Florida. VT was to 1st to offer as they have already gotten a commitment from 1 Florida kid. Heath took his sweet time but Henry has an offer from him now.

USF needs to do a better job with the state kids as there has been enough talent go elsewhere or going somewhere else that could be helping the Bulls be a stronger program. It's home state first then spread out not the other way around.

No idea. We will see what happens this summer. UF has shown some interest. VT is up there too.

I updated him on the facility upgrades today. I don't know how much he has even heard from USF lately. They should be all over this kid.

Has Heath struck out again on a major target of his?

Waverly Austin has made the rounds. From his home town of Fredricksburg, Virginia, to Prep Schools in Texas and Florida, his basketball travels have landed him now in Palm Beach.

The 6 foot 11 250 pound center has found Palm Beach to be his new home. He averaged an impressive 18 points and 10 rebounds in his first year at Palm Beach State Junior College.

Now Lon Kruger and the Sooner coaching staff hope that this JuCo big man finds Norman home, as Austin is one of the first 2012 recruits to receive a scholarship offer from the Sooners.

OUHoops.com caught up with Austin to see where the Sooners stack up against a tough list of competitors.

“I’ve been in contact with a lot of programs. South Florida, Villanova, Missouri, UAB, Cincinnati, Miami, Maryland, to name a few,†Austin told OUHoops.com in a recent interview.

The sophomore, who has a NBA ready body, listed, Oklahoma, Texas, Miami, and Maryland as the schools he is paying the closest attention to. In fact, Austin is scheduled to visit Oklahoma June 13th.

Austin has taken a long road to get to the point where he is now, a major division one recruit. But with the travels come experience.

“I regret not being as serious as I should have been with some of the school stuff (prep school accreditation issues) but it all has turned out for the best.â€

Austin stated that he doesn’t plan to make a decision until January and with the Sooners getting the first shot with the first unofficial visit, look for OU to be high on his list.

To bad USF couldn't get him in. Transfers just didn't work out this year.

I'm really hoping that with Roc heading up recruiting(Hopefully he's the lead recruiter) USF can turn the corner get some blue chip prospects to sign. USF really needs an outstanding signing class.

Doesn't appear we were ever a serious consideration for him ... The move is supposedly to be closer to his ailing grandmother in NY.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
