Pensacola native Terrell McClain added to Senior Bowl roster

A Pensacola native with NFL dreams just caught a big break.

Former Pensacola High and University of South Florida standout Terrell McClain was just added to the Senior Bowl roster on Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-3, 310-pound defensive tackle has boarded a plane in Orlando and is on his way to Pensacola. He will make the drive to Mobile tonight and is expected to participate in the South team practice on Wednesday.

The Senior Bowl invite will dramatically increase McClain's exposure since the game is widely considered the most significant college All-Star game in the nation.

McClain just took part in the East-West Shrine Game in Orlando last week. He is the first Pensacola High player to play in the Senior Bowl since Jimmy Haynes in the late 1960's. McClain was also invited to next month's NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Awesome! Congrats to him. He is really shining and showing the scouts what he's been showing us all year. I can't think of anyone who is hotter or who's stock is sky rocketting like him. Hopefully he keeps up the great work and stays healthy.

AWESOME!  Welcome to Mobile Mr. McClain!  Too bad the kids just came down with the flu or they'd love to go to the meet the players event Friday to see a Bull.  I haven't been to the practices so not sure if CJL is here...

Doubt it Bullfan98.  He had to work his way into the Senior Bowl invite and missed the first two days at that where every day is HUGE here as that's when the most scouts/coaches are in attendance.  It starts winding down as the week goes on and most are gone before Friday.  There are only so many reps to go around in the practice time allotted so you really need the whole week to get the exposure he would need to make the jump.  I think having him go from where he was to end the season to a projected 2nd round is an INCREDIBLE jump and would be great for USF.  Second round is nothing to sneeze at...
