looked  like crap. very little talent (cupboard was empty).

Is this the future of USF recruiting?

or was Maryland that good?

Will Holtz bring USF a BE championship?

Will the talent improve? Will the recruiting improve?

How long will it take? 1 year, 2-5 years, 10 years?

No one can look into the future.

Tampa has more talent than anywhere in the Carolinas.

Team is very disciplined compared to previous years.

What on earth are you talking about? Holtz won two conference titles in five seasons at East Carolina and upset a couple of ranked BCS foes to boot, and you want to judge his merits as a coach by the team's performance in a bowl game held a year after Holtz no longer had anything to do with them?

Well, you're free to do and think whatever you want I guess, but that's pretty ******* dumb.

Just means that ECU really missed Holtz in that game. Also, Maryland was playing pretty well to send of the Fridge in his final game. Maryland also got snubbed by the ACC bowl selection as I believe they were in line for the 3rd place bowl, but they ended up getting the 8th place bowl by ACC. A lot of the players wanted to prove a point that they belonged in a better bowl.

It has more to do with who ECU hired to replace Coach Holtz.

Texas Tech couldn't play d when McNeil was there, so what makes anyone think that will change now?

Nothing to do with Holtz. His defense graduated some players last year. This year the offense actually got better with Dom Davis (from Kathleen in Lakeland, formerly of Boston College) and Harris back there, but the defense couldn't stop anyone.

All Maryland had to do was put up some points and pressure the offense into making mistakes.

During the 'highlights' ESPN stated EC had the worst ranked defense in Division I. But, there are a lot of reasons that could be the case. New coach isn't that great, players changed schools, new system, graduation, etc.
