Glad to hear Skip own the last playcalling series...two fades in a row was not a good idea for multiple reasons.  From <a href="http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/content/video-usfs-holtz-says-one-hurts?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+tampabaycom%2Fblogs%2Fusf+%28The+Bulletin+|+tampabay.com%29">Greg's blog</a>:

Average season, Average Coach, he is a mid-major kinda guy - he will do average until kingdom comes.

Coaches make mistakes. If you polled 100 people, you'd have 100 different ways they would handle 1st and goal from the 5.

I still think we had a hell of a year when we were supposed to be down...really down this year. We've found a backup QB that is beyond game-ready, no one can tell me our defense is worse (Well, maybe our secondary), and the kicking game is VASTLY improved over the last few years. One thing I noticed about this year: We never got blown out (UF notwithstanding). We were in every game until the bitter end. That's heart, and good coaching.

It's nice to have someone own up to their mistakes. I agree with dan 100 people may have 100 different ways. I think that if we went back and looked at a lot of the predictions that many of us made about this team. We'll be see that the team performed well above how many expected. I'm excited for the future. What worries me, is that we've never been to a bowl without Mo on the team. This is the 6th year straight and he's a 6th year senior.  ;D

If you polled 100 people....90 of them would have said run it form the 5 yard line, 5 would say quick slant, 4 would say QB sneak or bootleg, 1 would say throw 2 fade routes in the corner of the endzone

Yeah everybody around me in section 123 said before the drive that they should not be putting the ball in the air.

This was one of the poorest end of game play calling and time management I can remember by ANYONE!!

Does make you wonder if the man in charge has what we need to go forward.

I for one feels we need to overlook this and move on, but we need to keep this in the back of our minds.

This wasn't the only poor time management in this game.  At the end of the 1st half we did similar (in our own territory) and had to punt to them and give them the ball with time left.

Just have to wonder if maybe HCSH needs to have someone else keep track of time managemant and advise him during the heat of the battle????

The play calling looked like a plan by someone who thought we couldn't score "normally" and had to try to gimmic our way into the endzone.

Where are the roll-out run pass options, the sweeps, the "full house backfields and pounding the rock"??

Bush league at it's best, but I think he is smart enough to learn and do better.  And with his own players.

But is that good enough??   Yes for now, but not next year.

Nice to see that Holtz admits he and his lieutenants cost us a victory... we should had tried to run it in or do something else.

Incorrect. The clock ran out on the punt, so they never ran a play.

The only thing I didn't like about the series from the 5 was 2 fade passes in a row. UConn called timeout after the first play, so we probably could have come up with a better selection.
