Attendance Speculation

FAU just doesnt travel well yet.

We dont have tradition, we play in the Sun Belt confrence, Weve never been ranked.

Figure that something like 90% of the alumni who have graduated from FAU did not have Football at ANY level as part of thier collegiate experience and you get a base that isnt dedicated to the expesne of travelling yet.

Of the alums that have graduated SINCE football started a lot of them travel, but they do not have a lot of disposable income to give to that yet en masse.

TBH FAU probably should of stayed FCS for another few years to build the base up and compete at the FCS level. But in 05 when the Sun Belt got raided they asked us to accelerate our time table and it was too good an opportunity to pass up to jump into FBS.

The drawback has been that we just had no time to develop a solid fanbase.

I think the Take-A-Kid promotion should go over well, so I'll say we announce 46,500, with an actual attendance of 39,000+

Per the FAU board 700 Tickets were sold thru the FAU office for the game.

That does not include student tickets or band. Band is another 100, and no info yet on how many students are making the trip.

One other poster reported that he tried to buy tickets from ticket master in the FAU section and that it was sold out.  Seats are also available in the second and third row of 232 right behind.

My guess is that we'll have over 1K there which wouldnt be bad for us TBH.

The FAU section is 132 which is sold out.  There are still seats available online in section 131 right across the aisle.  If I was an Owl that needed tickets that's where I would be buying them.  Could probably sneak over to 132 if you played your cards right.

In another thread, an Owl said they sold 700 in their section plus band of 100 and unknown number of students coming.  They should fill section 132.
