Here is a video of Jason Pierre-Paul getting a tackle for loss against the Titans on Sunday:

Note that Pierre-Paul, No. 90, lines up at middle linebacker at the start of the play. An interesting development. I can't see it as a long-term thing for him, but I guess the Giants want to get him on the field.

Thats a package the Giants run. If you look there are 0 down lineman.

I count three down linemen and it looks like a standard 3-4 front.  Pierre Paul was playing an inside, rather than middle linebacker position.

Unless my eyes are deceiving me it looked like there were 3 down lineman on that play. if you go towards the end of the clip when it replays the play it shows three with there hands in the dirt

He was blitzing all the way, no way he was dropping into coverage had it been a passing play. I'm guessing he's only going to in there at linebacker in pass-rushing situations (which sounds like the only time he gets in at all, even as a defensive lineman so far).

I can't wait till JPP is playing more, I'm excited to see what he does. Hopefully he lives up all the hype about his potential.

The "Nose Guard" was #59 - Linebacker Michael Boley

The other Middle Linebacker was #94 Defensive End Mathias Kiwanuka.

The LEFT OLB was #34 - Safety Deon Grant

Clearly that was a package designed to fool the offense.

Hate to be a stickler with nomenclature Jim but its an "inside linebacker" in 3-4 defenses.  Could be weak side or strong side, one could rush while the other floats into coverage but they're still called inside linebackers.  Middle linebackers are in the 4-3 since there is only one in the middle.

Cool he tackled the best RB in the league for a loss. Too bad the Giants are looking horrible so far this year.

You can see how un-orthodox #59's stance was.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
