It will be who hits who the hardest EARLY in deciding the momentum and result of the game.  That's how we won the FSU game.

Good luck to the players and I hope they play like 4 - 5 star kids.  And I hope our coaches adjust and adapt to each play of the game.  Can't be standardized against Florida.

Depth and athleticism on defense wins this game.  Both defenses will be dog tired in the heat from middle of the 3rd quarter to the end of the game.  Whoever is in better shape, cramps less and can sub without missing a step wins.

Three and out on first offensive drive by gators, that will bring up doubts again they will start to wobble some.

Next week, if we tighten up on special teams, stop the run, and find a way to get positive yardage through the air, play 60 minutes and not peter off, then they will keep it close. (10 points-ish).  If we do what we're supposed to do, it'll be a low scoring affair.

Anybody can tell you within the first 30 seconds of that game whether the Gators are going to win.  Sure you can prepare all you want -- and you can teach coverages, and tendencies, and cram your head with film... but you can't develop speed (not in the next 5 days at least).  That may be the only thing (along with athletic talent) that sets these two teams apart.  If Rainey or Demps turn on the jets and it's a one-way ticket to the end zone with a ****-ton of green and white chasing after them -- then it'll be a catastrophic afternoon.

Special teams.

Watched the game again last night.  This area could really hurt us.

Um... Perhaps you're not aware of this, but we have speed as well.  There are guys on defense like Kayvon Webster and Terrence Mitchell that are as fast as any Florida Gator - yes, including Rainey and Demps.

The Gators and Bulls are equals when it comes to speed.

Talent, I'll give you the Gators are more talented overall, but we match up well with them.  The gap is not enough for them to win solely on talent alone.

USF is not some I-AA team.  Our guys can go toe-to-toe with the Gators.

So then to answer the question: ball control.  The team that makes the fewest turnovers, is able to convert the most third downs, and wins the time of possession and field position battles will win this game.

So many ways to get the outcome we want.

We need to do anything that gets us more points and anything to keep them from scoring more.

;D
