This kid's Dad was an NFL QB and the kid looks like a real dropback passer in his video. He got hurt his Junior year and may be being overlooked by some teams. Looks like our Bearcat friends are on him though. We are his only FL team so maybe he might want to get out of OH winters. He is also being recruited by ASU so might be looking for a sunny destination with warm hearted coeds

From the NLF Combine in OH.

Dublin Coffman quarterback Cole Stoudt led a strong group of quarterbacks and had a big day. Stoudt timed well in the 40-yard dash, running a 4.88 and also posted a vertical jump of 36 ½ inches, one of the best marks of the day. Where Stoudt really separated himself was in one-on-ones where he showed the arm strength and accuracy to make any throw on the field

Says on ESPN that he is considering the following schools:Arizona State Sun Devils, South Florida Bulls, Cincinnati Bearcats, Toledo Rockets, Miami (OH) RedHawks

We already have 2 QB's in this class.  The only other QB we would take in this class woulld be Jacoby Brissett.

So you think we have retracted our offer?

It says that he is considering us, not necessarily the other way around.

He may not have a committable offer though.  This happens all the time.  A kid may be offered, but be further down our board at a certain position and the coaches may think he have a great shot at landing some of the guys higher on the board or we already have commits from players at that position that are higher on the board.

So if the players calls and says he wants to commit, they play politics with him and tell him he should hold off a bit or something to that nature.  It happens all the time.  A great example would be Andre Davis right now.  He has an offer from Miami and FSU but they won't accept a commitment from him because of the WR's they already have committed and who they still think they have a shot at.  But, if he called Coach Holtz today and committed he would jump up and down with joy because he is probably our top WR target that we are in play for.

I hope that makes sense.

This kid is a 6'5" Drop back passer with a cannon and nice touch. His dad was an NFL QB. Do you seriously think he is "farther down the board" than Weatherford or Floyd. That's what doesn't make any sense in your assessment.

Rivals ranks both Stout and Weatherford with 3 stars (5.6) pro style QB's.

I don't think there is that much difference between the two:

#19 Cole Stoudt QB Dublin, OH

Coffman 3 stars 6'4" 195 list

#26 Stephen Weatherford QB Land O' Lakes, FL

Land O' Lakes 3 stars 6'3" 205 South Florida

I know that this past weekend, Weatherford threw for three td's and ran for one. More importantly, he is already a USF verbal.  ;D

I know of another QB who plans on coming to USF next year. He was a teammate of a current USF verbal. He says he didn't have the grades to get admitted this year. I'm not sure if he will get a scholarship or walk-on. So, between him and the current guys on our roster and the two QB's who have given USF verbals, I doubt we will take another one, unless he's really a top guy. Rivals #8 dual threat QB, Jacoby Brissett, would probably fall into that category.

#8 Jacoby Brissett QB West Palm Beach, FL

Dwyer 4 stars 6'5" 225 list

If Stoudt is higher on the board and interested in USF then the staff made a mistake taking both Weatherford and Floyd's commitments at this point because we would not need 5 QBs on scholarship next season nor 3 in one class.  So either he's not as high on the board, he's not interested or the staff made a mistake.
