  1. I was dying laughing watching this, thinking it was an SNL skit or something. Then when it kept going and going...I suddenly realized, this was not a joke. That song was supposed to be legitimate. Wow.
  2. The source seems random as hell. However...it is odd that the Texas series was never officially announced by the school, but the BYU series was. It is probably jusy wishful thinking on my part though.
  3. It is great to see the flashes from the guys that Taggart has brought in. The young guys looked fantastic. It is going to be a long season as our best players are all freshman. Skip left this team with the talent of a bad 1AA program. But, the future is VERY bright.
  4. Rod Strickland was one of my favorite NBA players of all time. Tim Hardaway was always number one for me growing up. This is awesome news. I am liking this hire more and more everyday.
  5. I haven't gotten the email yet and my priority points rank me in the top 10% of all season ticket accounts. So, I don't think that they are prioritizing them that way as others have speculated throughout the thread.
  6. We didn't win anything. Congrats to those who did though.
  7. Scout is reporting it too? Which site? USF site backed the story on Twitter from OSU 247 guy. Not sure who there, I guess Larry's gone but they still use his name. Any new thread posted on USFnation generates a tweet from Larry's twitter account. Its not him reporting it on behalf of Scout. A poster created a thread with that title and it was tweeted out. I could go create a thread now that says USF to the SEC on his site and it would generate a tweet stating that. Well that's kind of a ****ed up policy. They are sending out tweets with random information which may or may not be true with their name on it ? That kid of creates more than a small credibility problem, I would say. I just created a thread about you. Watch for the tweet...

  9. I have one on my Navi and a Iconic U chrome plate on the front. My wife has a Bucs tag on her car.
  10. I keep thinking the same thing. The most heralded D Coordinator we have ever had was Mark Snyder and we only had him for one year. He was a head coach at Marshall and was fired. He was the D Coordinator at Ohio State when the refs gave them a national title vs Miami with a phantom pass interference call.Wally Burnham had a lot of experience too. But, last year our D Coordinator was Chris freaking Cosh. Now we go hire a guy who has been an NFL coach for 2 decades. Been promoted to D Coordinator 3 different times with 2 organizations. Was the D Coordinator of a team that made the Super Bowl...and we are complaining? Is he **** Lebeau or Monte Kiffin? No. But honestly, I was surprised at how poorly Kiffin did out at Southern Cal. You just never know. But, this guy's resume is by far the best of any coach we have ever had in this program. His resume is miles more impressive than Willie Taggart's even. I just don't get the negativity.
  11. Rick Stroud †@ NFLSTROUD Much speculation today that Cooper may pursue an opportunity on the University of South Florida coaching staff, but nothing confirmed Ron Cooper still coming?
  12. Here is the connection. Jim Harbaugh was the QB Coach of the Raiders in 2003. Bresnehan was the D Coordinator of the Raiders in 2003. I guarantee you that Jim Harbaugh helped Willie Taggart a lot of help with this hire. The 2 guys who were offered the job are both connected to Harbaugh.
  13. Chuck Bresnahan Chuck Bresnahan has spent almost 30 years in the NFL and major college football coaching defense. After helping Georgia Tech to the 1990 National Championship, Bresnaham moved on to coach with the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals and two different stints with the Oakland Raiders, including serving as their defensive coordinator last season. Bresnahan has coached Hall of Famer Rod Woodson and numerous Pro Bowlers, including Charles Woodson, Pepper Johnson, Justin Smith and Dhani Jones. Now, he trains the next generation of stars at FBU!
  14. Do you know how hard it is to get into Stanford? And they don't reduce their academic standards for athletes. You have to qualify AND be a stud. So imagine how many 4 and 5 star recruits could get into Stanford on their own. Then think of how heavily recruited those few kids would be. Stanford was a door mat program before Harbaugh took over. So it wasn't the easiest of sells. They were going up against schools like Notre Dame for kids of that caliber. Watch the video I posted. He discusses how involved he had to be with kids just to get them to be considered by admissions. They had to start working with them as juniors and tell them what classes to take, etc. Imagine a guy that is used to jumping through those kind of hoops dealing with our academic committee. We all complain about them, but he will find them to be a breeze compared to what he dealt with at Stanford.
  15. Not just a top 10 program, but arguably the best and most prestigious school in the United States. Located in an absolutely amazing place to live. National Recruiter of the year last year by Scout. Academic liason, recruiting coordinator, and LB coach....at Stanford. Hello, Stanford! We would be lucky to land a guy with those credentials. Stanford's defense has been amazing the past few years. They completely dominated Oregon's high powered offense this year. You have to remember, Willie T and Jim Harbaugh are really tight. You don't think he hasn't received a lot of input from Harbaugh on this? And he did work with him for 3 years at Stanford. Some people amaze me.
  16. I just watched this video of Anderson. I tell you what. He had a VERY important job at Stanford as their Admissions Liason. He discusses that role towards the end of the interview. Remember, Stanford has the most stringent admissions requirements for its football players of any FBS program in the nation. You basically have to be able to get into Stanford regardless of whether you are a football player or not. They don't reduce their standards much, if at all, for football recruits. So he has to get with guys in their junior year and work with them on what they need to take in order to get into Stanford. He spends a lot of time with the admissions office discussing potential recruits and getting specific guidance on what they need to do, etc. Our academic committee is going to seem like a breeze for this guy compared to working to get kids into Stanford. There are some coaching clips of him in the video too. He doesn't seem like much of a fiery coach. Seems like a smart guy with a good personality. I could see him relating well to players and their parents. He seems like a guy you would want to hang out with and talk about a variety of topics. Interesting candidate to say the least.
  17. San Diego State wants to stay in the Big East... www.ajerseyguy.com With Boise State’s decision to back out on a deal to join the Big East and remain in the Mountain West, the general assumption has been that San Diego State, which was also scheduled to jump from the MWC to the Big East on July 1, would follow the Broncos’ lead and also back out of the Big East arrangment. “The Big East hasn’t heard anything officially, but they (San Diego State) want to stay (with the Big East),†said one source familiar with the discussions that are being conducted between the Big East and SD State. Whether that is wishful thinking from Big East officials or a realistic option remains to be seen. When San Diego and Boise State made their original decision to join the Big East last year, a clause in the agreement allowed San Diego State to back out of the deal without penalty if there was no other school west of the Rocky Mountains (Boise State) in the new 12 team configuration of the Big East. Another “buddy system†deal in the contract involving the two schools also states that the Mountain West must ask San Diego State whether it wants to return as the MWC’s 12th team before it can invite any other school, according to a report in the Idaho Statesmen. The time frame on that deal is the end of January. When Boise State announced it’s decision not to come to the Big East on New Year’s Eve, many San Diego State backers assumed that the Aztecs would quickly follow suit. What surprised more than a few people at San Diego State was the less than enthusiastic response from schools in the Mountain West to endorse the move. That reluctance of acceptance has prompted San Diego State officials to wonder whether their best option is to stay with Boise State or venture off on their own as the Big East’s primary West Coast entry. Big East commissioner Mike Aresco, who was in New Orleans on Wednesday night watching Big East champion Lousville upset Florida in the Sugar Bowl, has maintained that the next move for the Big East would be to focus on a West coast partner for both San Diego State and Boise State. If Aresco can keep San Diego State, he is expected to target schools such as Fresno State, Nevada, BYU or UNLV. Aresco has lobbied SD State officials consistently over the past few weeks, emphasizing their importance in the overall expansion plan the Big East has put together. Although the best the Big East can probably expect at this point is to field an 11 team conference next season–which would prevent the creation of a conference (a minimum of 12 teams is required) championship game, Aresco feels that with Louisville (ACC) and Rutgers (Big Ten) remaining for one more year and new schools such as SMU and Central Florida on the upswing, the Big East will be very competitive in its final year with an automatic BCS bowl bid. Aresco has also had to deal with the defection of 7 Catholic schools–Marquette, St. John’s, Providence, Seton Hall, Villanova, Georgetown and DePaul. The Presidents of that group are expected to meet on Friday to discuss their exit strategy. According to sources familiar with the process, the Catholic 7 first official act will be to negotiate a departure from the Big East a year earlier than the July 1, 2015 date previously announced.
  18. "Four Hilltopper offensive linemen have earned All-America honors under Wells' direction" http://www.wkusports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5400&ATCLID=1568761 How many All American lineman has USF had? He had 4 All Americans at freaking Western Kentucky.

  20. Funny. You are the 2nd person familiar with him to say he is an idiot. Another guy told me when he was going to HS at Palmetto that every made fun of him and said he looked high all the time. Said they were shocked when he got the head job at Palmetto a few years later.
  21. Commentary | Former Palmetto football coach Ray Woodie top recruiter in Sun Belt By ALAN DELL Palmetto’s favorite son, Ray Woodie, was named the Sun Belt Conference’s top recruiter last week by ESPN, the second time in his two years at Western Kentucky he has been cited for his ability to wheel in some of the best talent in the country. Woodie and WKU head coach Willie Taggart, the former Manatee High quarterback great, are stealing so many players from Bowl Championship Series schools that those bigwigs of college football might seek an arrest warrant. Woodie says he learned from Taggart, the top recruiter for head coach Jim Harbaugh when he turned Stanford from an also-ran to a national contender. There is no magic to recruiting. It comes down to personality and effort. Either you have it or you don’t, but there are some basic rules you must follow, Woodie says. His recruiting is based on two staples: Be honest and don’t fear any man -- as in Nick Saban or Les Miles or any of those guys from the elite programs. “If you are not honest, it will come back to bite you and then you have a whole lot of explaining to do and probably lost the kid,†Woodie says. “With the Internet, kids today are very knowledgeable about what is going on at the schools they are considering. You have to be straight with them. “You can’t be afraid of any other recruiters. If I walk into a recruit’s home and a BCS coach is coming out, I am not intimidated. I believe we’ve got more to offer. It’s a matter of showing that to the recruit and his family.†Last year, Woodie was named one of the top first-year recruiters in the country and praised for being able to make the transition from high school coach to college recruiter so smoothly. WKU had only 13 scholarships to offer this year, and Woodie was responsible for more than half. He signed five of WKU’s seven three-star recruits (Rivals.com) and a total of seven altogether, an impressive number for a non-BCS conference. Woodie is known around here for getting some of the top players out of Manatee and Sarasota counties, but he is recruiting a big part of the country. One of his biggest steals was signing Tampa Plant receiver Austin Aikens, who chose WKU over Missouri, Boston College, Cincinnati and Vanderbilt. He also nabbed junior college defensive end Calvin Washington, who turned down Miami for the Hilltoppers, and junior college defensive back Brett Harrington. Harrington said the connection he made with Woodie sold him on WKU along with what he saw as a bunch of hungry players, including Southeast High product Jon Dowling, who will be eligible next season after transferring from Florida. Woodie is credited with swaying Palmetto High’s Daqual Randall from changing his commitment from Louisville to WKU and shunning offers from Purdue, Rutgers, Iowa State and Indiana. He signed highly touted defensive lineman Devante Terrell, who chose WKU over Arizona State, Iowa State, Louisville and Washington State (all BCS schools). “We want recruits who can play on Sunday, but we stress getting that degree first,†Woodie said. “We also have a lot to sell at WKU, some stuff people might not know like Romeo Crennel (Kansas City Chiefs head coach) played and coached here, and Taggart was an All-American quarterback and is an offensive genius.â€
  22. Here is Woodie's bio from WKU. http://www.wkusports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5400&ATCLID=204864413
  23. From a poster on BCP... "just got of the phone with my nephew he said ray woodie left for USF today... him & taggart will make it really hard for kids NOT to go to USF... he will put in the work to land a kid... he def. went above & beyond to land my nephew & get him into WKU... also did the same for a few of the other higher rated recruits" His nephew plays at WKU. So its a solid source.
