USF needs to keep building up its depth. I'd love to start getting Hillsborough and Polk counties on lock down for USF. Then sprinkle in some Manatee, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando for good measure. Dominating the Big East on a consistent basis will put us on course for this objective, I think.

The Dude Posted September 16, 2010 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 143 Reputation: 2 Days Won: 0 Joined: 04/28/2010 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Sorry. The translation is FSU, for whatever reason, has really (gone out of its way) to"recruit"players via the cell phone, ala, text messaging. We've seen UCiF get put under probation for over abuse, etc, of using this form of recruiting. It's very much out there that FSU has succumbed to this type of communication with some of its recruits, especially the urban ones. IO words, FSU has twittered more players this way than guys that that Hilton chick has "dated." The Bell post in question was more than similar. Bell could end up at FSU, but who really knows. He was sitting in the section next to us last night and was heads and shoulders above the rest of his teammates. He was sportin' a pretty solid knee brace, anyone know what that was about? Reliable Source Posted December 22, 2010 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 10,367 Reputation: 170 Days Won: 40 Joined: 09/15/2008 Author Share Posted December 22, 2010 Kind of a wild story about Terry. It explains the knee brace and some of his problems re: committing.Florida State To Place Defensive Tackle Terry Bell? Unlikely. Conflicting reports and miscommunication29seminoles by Bud Elliott on Dec 21, 2010 12:18 PM EST in FSU FootballUpdate: Josh Newberg of 247 Sports and Geoff Voght of Nole Digest have denied Tom Loy's report, denying that he will be in the class, and denying that he will be placed as a JUCO either. Looks like Terry Bell tried to commit, as he has done before, and was not accepted by FSU's coaching staff at this time. My take on this? He may be placed in a JUCO at some point, but FSU hasn't yet agreed to do so. Star-dividePrevious StoryTerry Bell, a defensive tackle from Tenoroc High School in Lakeland, Fla., has committed to the Florida State Seminoles, per a report by Tom Loy, an independent recruiting guru. Bell's academic profile is thought to be lacking, so this report (if true) means that FSU will help him with placement in a junior college, much like the 'Noles successfully did with current defensive tackle Amp McCloud in 2008. I would speculate that he will end up in a Mississippi-based JUCO like Peal River CC.Here is our scouting report of Bell from the Spring: Bell is impressive physically. He has a tremendous frame with great length. Bell is raw, but uses his long arms to disarm the blocker and then sheds him pretty well, quickly finding the ballcarrier. Great pursuit and effort. Even covers punts well. He's relatively unpolished, however, and his technique could improve as he plays too high. The greatest criticism of Bell is that he doesn't do a great job of breaking down when addressing a ballcarrier and is often out of control once he gets past the blocker. The competition he plays is a bit suspect and his team is pretty bad (outscored 293-27 by Lakeland, Liberty, Winter Haven, Lake Wales, Auburndale, Sebring, and Jenkins in 2009).Bell's senior season was disappointing, however, as he injured his knee, was much less effective, and elected for surgery. Bell is rated as a four-star by two of the major services a three-star by rivals, and ESPN has not released its rating of him. He measures out at 6'5" 285. FSU's class now technically stands at 23 players, though we still expect FSU to enroll no more than 29. The 'Noles will still pursue another defensive tackle in this class. FSU is still very much on track to have one of the top classes in the country. If there is a gripe with this, however, it is with Bell coming forward now. Other schools will use his "commitment" to negatively recruit against FSU by telling other recruits (inaccurately) that "FSU has three defensive tackle recruits already."Keep Bell in your thoughts for 2012 or 2013 and don't get too excited about him in this class.http://www.tomahawknation.com/2010/12/21/1889549/florida-state-to-place-defensive-tackle-terry-bell
