Not a home and away game. Strictly a payday game. We really need to get away from these types of games if we want to take it to the next level. I think that it should be a lottery system where ND has to play at least 1 BEast football team, other then Pitt / Cuse, every season.ND and Pitt are rivals and I believe they play each other a lot anyway. They could theoretically decide to no longer charter football and still maintain the Big East and losing nothing except for the football revenue-- which they didn't partake in much anyway. ND is in like three different conferences anyway, they're in another for hockey, and one for fencing I believe. They're accustom to breaking things up anyway. How did they lose Boston College then? Pretty sure they're another Catholic university.

Marinatto and the Big East are trying to find ways to increase their revenue streams and form strategies for the future, which may include a league-operated cable network. As such, they want to keep Notre Dame around as a member that can provide value in different ways, even if the Irish will never join the conference for football.http://espn.go.com/blog/bigeast/post/_/id/9857/john-marinatto-on-the-notre-dame-questionnegotiating from a position of weaknessno wonder big east is worst conference

Pretty sure they're another Catholic university. What does that have to do with my point? They lost them because of television revenue...revenue that had a lot to do with football. That isn't what is concerning ND since they generate their own television revenue. My point is that ND needs to host it's Olympic sports somewhere as an independent in football. You see if they were an independent in all-sports that could be the type of leverage a B10 could use to force them to join. But with the BE ND is in an enviable position. They have a home for most of their Olympic Sports, a good home too not some A-10 deal, and with all these Catholic brethren in conference that don't play football. None of those schools would ever take Notre Dame to task about 'bring football or we'll boot your Olympic sports', and so ND can have their cake and eat it too. And basically play hardball with everyone. My other point was the BE would never force ND's hand because those Catholic/non-football schools are the controlling party in the BE. Like it or lump it that's the way it is.

You're a real bad arse...complaining on a message board instead of in real life. Like you could have changed this thing, or would have turned it down if you were in USF's shoes in 2003. It is what it is...you can either be a whiner, or deal and enjoy it's fruits.
