Projected BE Standings pre-BE Tourny...

I was looking at the BE standings and the remaining schedules and came to a few probable conclusions.

1.  The top 5 teams will probably stay the top 5 teams (Cuse, Nova, WVU, Gtown, Pitt)

2.  The bottom 4 teams will probably stay the bottom 4 teams (Prov, SJU, RU, Dep)

3.  That leaves the middle 7 teams fighting it out for 2 maybe 3 spots in the Dance.  (Marq, UL, ND, USF, UC, SHU, UCONN)

4.  None of the 7 teams are good on the road, none of them have won more than 2 conference road games or 3 games for the whole season, UCONN is winless

5.  SHU and USF have the most favorable schedules remaining, Marq, ND and UCONN's are tough, UL and UC's are brutal

Here is my guess for how the 7 middle teams will finish...

6.  Marquette  10-8 (19-11)   1 game remaining against the bottom 4

7.  USF            9-9 (19-11)   3 games remaining against the bottom 4

8.  SHU           9-9 (18-11)   5 games remaining against the bottom 4

9.  UL             8-10 (17-14)  1 game remaining against the bottom 4

10.UCONN       8-10 (18-13)  1 game remaining against the bottom 4

11.ND             8-10 (19-12)  1 game remaining against the bottom 4

12.UC             7-11 (16-14)  1 game remaining against the bottom 4

Winning on the road is gonna be key for all of these teams, we have a very good opportunity to at least get a first round bye in the BE Tourny...Thoughts?

It's certainly doable. 1 game at a time. Getting a road win tomorrow would be huge.

I think we match up well against Marquette, so it should be a game we can do well in and win.

I didn't mean against Marquette I meant the dance.  I have this sinking feeling we'll be in the NIT.  Which is still an accomplishment considering where we've been.

Yes, it would be an accomplishment from where we've been to make the NIT this season, but we're not that far away from getting into the tournament. If we manage to win the next 2 games (3 games since we have St. John's at home), then we'll be in a great position for the Big East tournament and solidifying ourselves for the NCAA tournament.
