The last time USF got a verbal from a NJ OL Shiano swooped in and made him an offer. He told the kid that he shouldn't go to USF because, "He had nothing in common with those Florida HS kids." Meanwhile Schiano was signing all those Florida HS kids and telling them how well they would fit in NJ. That OL, Haslem, ended up signing with RU and is expected to be drafted this year. USF has never had a WR get a lot of acclaim. I have great respect for our current/graduating receivers (Mitchell, Hester, etc) but I think Griffin is going to really make waves. Some services are reporting a Rutgers offer and others are reporting RU taking their offer away from Kaufman. Will definitely need to improve his conditioning to play in college. His wingspan isn't as long as it should be and he plays very upright, but is light on his feet. He has all the intangibles, which is why he's been offered by big time schools, but he needs a lot more training. scout.com seems to be the most updated source and is saying RU has backed off and has Kaufman selecting between USF and Wisconsin (he has high interest in them).http://www.nj.com/rutgers-fans/index.ssf/2010/01/rutgers_recruiting_2009-10_the.html

We tried that with Genus Sampson. Didn't work. We need to chase Chandler down and get him to re-commit.

I hadn't thought of that. What about Jatavious Jackson? He could probably play either way as well.We do have Anthony Hill, who should do well.Too bad, about not allowing K Thornton to enroll last year. I loved that guy.
