Because client(coach) would not sign it without a buyout ... and it's $1 Million

Is this your first post since this all started??  And it's negative? You've been asking for this for years!

You expect to win for 9.1 million dollars, but USF needs an out in case he turns into a horrible failure.

It's not in his track record to be that bad, but it makes me feel better about the situation.

With the tendency of Tampa being bandwagony, if he makes some big strides next year, we could make a run at keeping him in 2-3 years or upgrade at coach when he leaves.

If he's a failure we can buy him out ourselves.

How much is Pete Carroll getting paid at USC, whoops, Seattle?  So, highest paid coach wins a NC every year?

I'm thinking that we won't need to buy him out anytime soon by what I saw at the press conference today.

welcome back...

a buyout just assures we get something back if the coach takes off... its better to have that 1 million dollars in our pocket than 0
