On the ECU board, they pretty much have him gone accepting the job.  Pretty funny what they say about our friends to the east also.

-- Latest name dropped by Yahoo's Tom Dienhart is Middle Tennessee State's Rick Stockstill, who played at Florida State and grew up in Fernandina Beach. Dienhart said Stockstill was contacted by USF on Sunday, much like Holtz, but I haven't been able to reach him here in Orlando.

Wow, my dark horse was actually contacted ....

Fulmer ran a poor program that did not do anything at the end.  The last seven years of his carrer are bad.  He was ran out of Tenn why would he be a good fit here?  I would rather have a young coach than an old one that was ran out of his last job.

He needs to at least talk to Fulmer

No, he doesn't ....

Explain why? It seems like Fulmer is generally not been considered for any recent opening. I really do not understand.

We don't need an old, retread coach .... unless Bobby wants to go after JoePa again... and the fact that Fulmer hasn't been seriously considered for any recent openings should speak volumes.

In his "last seven years"....he had 3 10 win seasons, all 3 of those season UT finished first or tied for first in their division.  His "last seven years' also include a Cotton Bowl and Outback Bowl victory.  5 of his last 7 years he had 8+ victories.  5 of his last 7 years he had a winning conference record in the SEC.

I hardly call that "bad"

He's only been out of work for one year, Im sure he couldnt have been turned down for that many jobs already.

Beat me to it.

Don't get the hate on Fulmer.  In his 16 years at Tennessee, he had 9 10+ win season, 14 8+ win seasons, and finished first or tied for first in the divison 6 of those years.  He's only 59, so old, but not end of his rope old.

Why would we want an old school, retread that no one else wants either.
