Gus Malzahn.

Like FSU (former LSU OC) and UF (Urban Meyer/Dan Mullen/Steve Addazio) we need to hire an offensive mind. It's the way to go these days. This guy will have head coaching position someday soon.

The Malzahn Efffect Offensive productivity of the college teams for which Gus Malzahn has served as coordinator (NCAA rank in parentheses).                      Year   Team   Record      Total       Rush          Pass

2006 Arkansas 10-4     378.0 (29) 228.5 (4) 149.5 (108)

2007 Tulsa 10-4          543.9 (1) 172.9 (41) 371.0 (3)

2008 Tulsa 11-3          569.9 (1) 268.0 (5)   301.9 (9)

2009 Auburn 4-0         526.3 (3) 261.3 (5)   265.0 (27)

After producing the nation's top-ranked offense at Tulsa in 2007 and 2008, Malzahn has returned to the SEC, where he's engineered another remarkable transformation. Using virtually the same cast of players that slogged through a disastrous 5-7 season last year, Auburn is off to a 4-0 start thanks largely to an offense that has improved from 104th in the country ... to No. 3 (526.3 yards per game).

Offensive Philosophy

Coach Malzahn is known for his no-huddle offensive philosophy. In January 2003, he published a book and instructional video titled Hurry Up No Huddle — An Offensive Philosophy (ISBN 9781585186549), that became the blueprint for the offensive wave engulfing the state.[15] Several NFL teams adopted some of Malzahn's offensive strategies.[16] Malzahn is perhaps best known for his formation, the "Wildcat", which became famous during his year at the Razorbacks, but is actually a variation on the Single Wing, a play that dates to Pop Warner.

Malzahn has been involved as a guest speaker and instructor at numerous coaching clinics around the nation.

Another good one would be Kevin Sumlin.

He would be a great hire if we could get him.

I've been bringing this guy up on here for weeks. He would be a solid x's/o's hire. I doubt that he would bring much as far as recruiting, and he has never been in charge of a defense. I would love to bring him in though. I would argue that we have better players on offense than Auburn had this year (maybe not the line). I think it would be important to keep some key members of the current staff, but I really like this guy.

Auburn's offense was completely inept last year, to No. 16 this year. If you watched their game with Bama, he is definitely original.

Hope he gets and interview. I didn't see this mentioned, but I read somewhere that he was a HS coaching legend in Arkansas. This shows that he is pretty good with HS age kids, could help in recruiting, and connection to his players.

He's making $350,000 according to his wikipedia page . He would quadruple his salary if we offered him $1.4 million. He's got to at least give us a look, IMO. The only drawback is that he doesn't seem to have any ties to Florida for recruiting...
