It would take a miracle for us to lose this game.

NIU may out scheme us, but the talent disparity should out weigh any advantages NIU may have.  I'd be impressed if they managed more than 14 points including fourth quarter mop-up.

I don't see USF screwing this one up. Granted anything is possible, but highly unlikely.

They are banking that USF will be a safe upset pick to pad their 2009 Bowl Prediction stats... with that said that these are the dumbest upset picks of the entire season, Cincy would had been a safer upset pick then NIU.

I don't see us screwing this up...

these picks have nothing to do with the game itself or the teams playing it, and everything to do with the media`s overall negative perception of our football program generally.

the media hates to be wrong, and prior to 2007 when a few sports bloggers and writers picked us as a dark horse after which we ascended to #2 in the nation midway through the season, the media had us pegged as their annual ``Cinderella`` (much like Rutgers the year before).

once we plummeted off the face of the earth (and did so the subsequent two seasons), the media threw us under the bus and never looked back.

their perception now is one of an undisciplined, poorly prepared team that can`t get motivated for games like this.

throw in the Leavitt ``incident`` and CBS is banking on the precept that we will be too distracted to come out on top in this game.

You can't honestly believe that, can you? If so, what are you basing it on?

Games like what?
