Mark my ambitious words:

THIS TEAM will make the NIT this year.  They have 6 conference games that are very winnable, and a possibility of 8.

an 18 win Bulls team easily makes the NIT.

BOOK IT!

GO BULLS!!!

With a 10-2 non-conference record, I would say...

6-12 gets us into the NIT

10-8 (four more wins which will probably have to come from mid to upper teams in the conference) gets us into the NCAA's

Gilchrist being out significantly impacts out ability for an NCAA at-large, if that was even truly realistic to begin with.

Merry Christmas everyone!

While i understand and partially agree about gilchrist being out might affect our chance at the NCAA tourney... if we can do well while he is out, it may help us down the stretch, as his coming back should help tremendously and the committee would likely look at how we played without him as a positive to the strength of the team.

That said... still a long shot, but glad that it is a possibility for the first time since the BB Waldon days.

I'm sorry, I guess the optimism is good, but those of you talking NCAA tournament are just setting yourselves up for disappointment. I would be VERY impressed by six conference wins this year. An NIT bid would be FANTASTIC, and is the best this team could realistically hope for, in my opinion.

7-9 in conference with 1-1 in the MSG is 18-12.  If there are two wins vs. top 25 teams the Bulls will be a strong bubble team.  Chips will need to fall in the right places during conference tournment time i.e. no finals upsets.

we have 18 games in conference... so we can't got 7-9 in conference... 7 wins would mean 11 losses.... or 17-13... not likely enough for the tourney, but the Big East tournament would help.  If we could go 8-10 in conference and get a win or two in the BE tourney, that would be a decent resume considering Gus's injury during the middle of the season.  Probably not quite enough, but worth a discussion.

20 wins would be a lock.

I don't think anybody is expecting the NCAA's so there's not much of a chance for disappointment in that regard .....
