TAMPA - The University of South Florida Athletics Department is one step closer to launching the next phase of its Athletics District after receiving approval today from the university's Board of Trustees for the construction and financing of the $30 million project.

The project will move forward immediately, subject to approval of the financing plan by the university's Board of Governors on December 10.

Good to hear.  The Red was nice, but we need the best possiblt for a BCS conference.  Softball too, their facilities of the past were not even on par.

The Red was nice

The Red was among the worst D-1 stadiums in the country.

It would be nice to see the conceptual drawings of the entire plan including the new wellness center / dinning hall.  Hopefully they will be released soon as if they plan to start construction in the spring these should already be done.  My guess everything will have the same look and feel as the main Athletic building which has a great design.
