There are two problems with losing to UC:

1. USF cannot become eligible until December 4th. The bowls don't want to wait that long to issue an invitation. The New Orleans Bowl game itself is Dec 14th.

2. It would mean that 5 C-USA teams have already qualified (assuming USM gets a 6th win at some point). The C-USA contracted bowls will go ahead and invite the teams that have already qualified rather than wait for us, meaning that our only hope would be for an at-large bid somewhere.

The Cincinnati games won't mean anything unless we win one more after that.  The way our offense is playing lately, I'm confident we'll be fine.  The defense is going to need to step it up for the next three games.

cincy needs this game more than usf

Some of you are thinking too far ahead. USF needs to win this game to make it easier for the bowl bid. Gary was right in pointing out the sooner USF becomes bowl eligible, the better our chances are to getting invited. Winning this game will set up a very big game against Memphis, but that will be a moot point if we dont win IMO. USF needs to win this game in the worse way.

If we beat Cincinnati and Memphis, we'll get a bowl.  There would be a good chance we'll be third or fourth in the conference.
