The USF at UAB game set a new record low for attendance at a I-A away game for USF and the worst C-USA away game attendance for USF.

According to The Sports Network stats on TBO.com, the UAB announced crowd was 9,220.

STK's continous distortions of USF attendance forced me to start tracking it to keep the TRUTH out there. Since I was tracking home games, I decided why not away games as well for fun.

BTW, before the wild announcements of speculation of attendance based on what someone saw on  TV, a UAB fan on the Blazer board said that he was at the game and most fans were under the stands out of the rain. Still, that was probably the tickets sold and fans at the UAB game figure there were no more than 5k at the game.

Thank you, Kizarvexis. This has been topic #27 of a 50-part series entitled Why Weeknight College Football Sucks.

Wednesday nights are typically church nights and especially so for Southern Baptists, who probably make up the majority of the large, devout Christian population in the Birmingham area.

I betcha if Alabama or Auburn was playing it wouldn't have been 9,220 people. Baptists schmaptists, SEC Football is the real religion in the south.

Great win the other night from a Cuse fan.

UAB will continue to draw flies for several reasons:

1.  Second tiered state university  not the Flagship

2.  Auburn/Bama fans in Birmingham will not support this team--they fear it will siphon recruits away from them

3.  As stated above--Legion Field/Bad Neighborhood

Count your lucky stars you are leaving C-Ugly

Leave the field.  Tear down the stadium and build a 35-40K seat bare bones job with expansion for more seating n luxury boxes.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
