He's got one year left. And I seriously doubt he's gonna save syracuse. They still need some WRs, an O-line, a Defense...Syracuse is a serious work in progress

Since I am not too knowledgeable on this, why did he play basketball instead of football?

Also, how many years of elegibility will he have remaining?  I thought that a student's 5-year window began the moment he became a full time student at a college, and ended after 5 years unless a hardship or medical redshirt arose.

Maybe he thought he had a better chance of going pro in basketball than football? If that's the case than he's a little slower than most that attended Duke with him, since he was a solid hustle player at best

He thought he had a shot of going pro in basketball, a way better sport to be a pro in.  Being the starting PG at Duke gives you a shot.  but he lost his starting position and was really a role player after a few years.

i dont think he will turn around the cuse but he is the highest recruited QB in the big east out of high school right now.  any other national players of the years qbing a big east team?  im not sure but i would bet no.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
