USF head coach Jim Leavitt announced the hiring of David Blackwell to the position of co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. 

“We are going to get him going immediately,†said Leavitt. “He is a great addition to our staff.  He has a proven track record on the field and in recruiting. I have tremendous confidence in the assets he will bring to this program.â€

Blackwell just completed his sixth season coaching linebackers at Clemson.

Great hire. I didnt think CJL would be able to bring a guy in from another BCS School for the same job. Congrats CJL

Yeah I wonder how Tressey feels about this was he consulted is this just a title that gets him more money or are the responsabilities going to be shared. I get the feeling that Tressey is only planning on making a pit stop here before a bigger job opens up next year. hope Im wrong
