For all the crap Gregory gets it was our defense that gave up the game winning drive. How come nobody talks about Burnham?

Because Wally's track record speaks for it's self.  I think coach Patrick needs to be looked at.  The DT's have consistently jumped off sides all year and there is no excuse for that when your over top of the ball except that watching the ball isn't made a priority at practice.  The DL in general has no clue how to read and recognize a screen pass and peel off and disrupt it.  If its too easy to be true then well it prolly is.  These are problems we did not have when McCarney was here.

DT's were awful last year too. We need to cut TYLER ROBERTS and find someone who doesnt blow the deep coverage. Also get some players smart enough to figure out a screen or draw

And what does it matter? Grothe is still the reason we can win games, period. There's no need to go off on him just because we lost this game. Coaching lost us this game, IMO.

Can someone tell me what the coaches did to lose the game?  It seemed to me to be the overall execution from the players.  We need a better punt returner and secondary.  That is partly due to coaching, sure, but other than that...

Louisville's D is much improved from last year and we had injuries, drops, and miscues on defense.  Not to mention if we had a chance to win the game like we should have (thanks refs), grothe might have led the team all the way down the field and you guys wouldn't be acting like the world is over.

Perhaps we weren't as good as we thought, guys.  Overtime against UCF, a bad game against FIU, losing to a mediocre Pitt and Louisville.  That doesn't mean we need to fire everyone and bench all the starters.

Adios Grothe, he is not very good, and I do not know how anyone can argue he is.  After a 6-0 start lasy yr, he **** was figured out, the spin crap, the not getting ride of the ball it was all figured out last and even more so this yr, which is why we almost lost to FIU and lost to Pitt and Ville. Bring Daniels in prepare this kid for Florida, Miami , and the roadies in 2010.  Adios Grothe thanks for the run.

Without Grothe this team would be very mediocre. We have no running game, our defense is prone to the big play, and play calling is inconsistent.

What a horrible post!

Actually there is a lot of truth in that post as much as I hate to admit it.  And if you haven't noticed, we are a very mediocre team with and partly because of a very inconsistant Grothe.  We can just about kiss the Big East title goodbye so we might as well give Daniels some exposure to get him ready and experienced.

Becasue with an inconsistant Grothe and a joke of an Offensive Coord. who won't even try to establish a running game with supposedly 5 talented running backs, we will be lucky if we get away with a 4 loss season.    Get a new OC and give Daniels experience, and look to 2009.

I find you and E.T on opposite spectrums and find myself more aligned with E.T in general, but seriously, it's almost as he has some sort of mental disorder if he is not frustrated with this loss. Heads deserve to roll for this one and the fact that we've lost 2/3 of our conference games already.

Execution was indeed ****** but so was the game plan.  Running the ball 14 times?  Not moving the pocket often to change the rush angles of the DL's and LBs.  No screens to the RB's when the defense is obviously pinning its ears back and coming after Matt, not bringing extra bodies when UL was in obvious passing situations and our secondary showed they couldn't cover anyone, poor time out management in the second 1/2.  There is tons of blame to go around today and this loss is just as much on the coaching as it is on the players.
