What we've learned (so far) in Week 1 of the Big East

August 31, 2008 3:14 PM

Week 1 in the Big East is only 75 percent complete, but here's what we have learned so far:

3. South Florida could be scary good: It's hard to read too much into a win over Tennessee-Martin. But the Bulls were so dominant on offense and defense that they pulled their starters by halftime in the 56-7 win. If they can play with that same kind of focus all season, look out.

Hard to know much about any team after one game. We need to be consistently good, something that we have struggled with throughout our history.

Yeah, but we'd also struggled with 1-AA teams including the last 2 years with Elon and McNeese State and all the way back to Nicolls State in 2003 (27-17)  and Tennessee Tech in 2004 (21-7).  I think this year will be different, but we'll see.

Another thing we know after today's game in the Big East...Louisville has a loooooong season ahead of them. Especially if there offense continues to look as bad as it did today
