We should definitely cut him and bring up one of the minor leaguers so they can get bombed every other start for the rest of the season. That'll help us secure the division. His shortest outing was 4 innings in his first start of the season coming off injury. Look up your favorite starting pitchers and see how many of them have been that consistent. Who put this great Bullpen together that keeps bailing out Kazmir?Aside from Garza, very few of the Rays pitchers are going 7, 8 innings into games. Deal with it. It's why the Bullpen even exists and the fact that the Rays have a great one attests to the type of team they've built.

Talk to a million scouts and most call Scott Kazmir one of the elite young pitchers in the game. Jackson is definitely slowly evolving, but his demeanor, and pitching style will never allow him to equal Kazmir. You're one of those guys that started watching Rays now that they're winning and forming an opinion about nothing. Kazmir has great stuff, ultimate command of four pitches. The only guy on the current starting staff that has the right make-up and stuff to eventually be better than Kazmir, or equal, possibly, is Garza. Jackson, Sonastein, are all 3-5 starters at best. So you're ok with a starting pitcher (some might call an ace : ) not making it to the 6th inning on a consistent basis? Face it, having a low era is great but be a GREAT STARTING PITCHER is staying in the game through the 7th inning on a consistent basis.
