playing like they dont care. no heart. it was fun while it lasted but this looks like the real rays

you guys are a joke.  they lose a few games and hit a slump for 5 games and you forget what happened the other 85  games.

It's one thing to get in a slump but the Rays aren't even giving themselves a chance to win these games.  These are ugly losses (almost as ugly as miamisportsfans mother).  I wish Maddon would just freak out one time to see if he gets a reaction from the team.

thankfully the manager is smarter than you

Yes because Maddon's quiet and calm demeanor is really helping the team right now.

You have access to the clubhouse?

No, I watch the team play.  What more do you need to see?

Its kind of frustrating to see the team like this.  Also to see the lineup.  Zobrist, Gomes, these are the devil rays.

Can't wait to get Bartlett back.

You need to calm down... It is a long season, this is going to happen.

You don't need to worry about a 6 game losing streak, this will pass.

You need to worry about a month when they are playing .500 (or sub .500) ball, that is when you will need to worry as that is the true demeanor of a team.

A streak is a streak and although it is painful, it is too short to judge the quality of a team.

What we are seeing is a time when the pitching has succumbed to the pressure of a poor hitting team. This no where near scares me as much as if it were the opposite. The pitching is strong and will return, hitting is fickle and you won't win very consistently relying on hitting.  Look at the Marlins when they were hitting, now what has happened.

The Marlins are a half game out of 1st and have just gained Josh Johnson, if the pitching can hold we will compete for a playoff spot.

look at it this way...this is the BEST time of the year for our team to hit a slump like this....one....they get 3 days off from baseball.....two....all the GMs will be in one place this week and its clear that the rays still need a 3rd OF who can hit righthanded.  or atleast not suck against LH pitching.....three.....they have enough time to realize that Evan and BJ need to be flipped in the order.

id love to come back from the break with this line up

1.  BJ Upton CF

2.  Aki 2B

3.  Carl Crawford LF

4.  Evan Longoria  3B

5.  Jason Bay RF  (that would be sweat)

6.  Cliff Floyd DH/HeinskeDH

7.  Carlos Pena 1B

8.  Navarro C

9.  Bartlett SS

Zobrist back in the minors, never to return.  Gomes sitting on the end of the bench being a cheerleader and always ready to fight.

If Friedman or Hunsicker were gun shy about trading some prospects for a good right handed bat, I hope this week helps them pull the trigger.  as long as it's not Price, unless its for A-Rod.  If they're not going to trade, why not bring up Ruggiano and give him a real chance to prove himself, he's hitting over .300 at AAA, he plays RF, he is right handed, he can't be any worse than Gomes.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
