For

In the end the cities end up making money off the venue.  It's an investment for the city.  They aren't just buying it to give to the "evil" rich team owner.

LOL USF gets screwed playing at RJS. Granted it is better than building a cheap ass dump (like the Tin Can) RJS is a "community stadium built with tax dollars" and we get raped by the glazers, and have to give up a prime time home game so the ACC can play a championship game. Our lease is a joke.

If it weren't for RJS, USF would probably not have football, and if we did, we wouldn't be in the Big East.

we had football before RJS.

But the fact is we are a public University that plays in a stadium bulit with tax dollars, yet we pay rent to the private business that also calls the public stdium home.

having a pro-team in your city does so much more for the community then a city without one but an extra .005 less sales tax.

the way i look at it....cities will find a way to spend all the tax dollars available to them.  more times then not its on something that doesnt have the kind of effect that a pro team has on the community.

put it this way...how much $$$$$$ is coming into our city in Feb for the Super Bowl?  how much came in last time the super bowl was at RayJay?

and yea i know the old tampa stadium had super bowls too....but without a football team and an amazing stadium we don't get this super bowl.  specially considering all the other cities that have upgraded their stadiums.

we can be bitter about the whole USF/Glazer issue all we want..but obviously USF is happy enough with the situation then to take on millions of dollars of debt to get out of it.

i like going to games at Ray Jay.
