I'm just stopping by the board to tell the Bulls nation how impressed I was with one of their football alumni.  I am a Citadel grad, class of '73 now living in Fort Myers.  Our football alumni association had a meeting a few weeks ago and had the pleasure to hear Ryan Hearn speak about his philosophy on recruiting and the direction that Coach Higgins and the staff have The Citadel football program heading.  WOW, that is all I and everyone else could say after hearing him captivate our attention for the hour and half that he spoke.  I think I speak for everyone that we could have sat there the whole night.  You guys at USF are very lucky because he gave a lot of the credit of doing and knowing what he does to the USF coaching staff.  Some of the names were Jim Leavitt, Carl Franks, Larry Antonucci, and Wally Burnham.  Some more also, but can't remember them.  If you got a lot coaches like that, I now see even more than ever the difference in IA and IAA.  I have a whole different respect of USF as a school and a football program after that night.  I felt compelled to tell everyone how proud they should be.  One last thing if you guys are ever looking for a new assistant coach, LEAVE HIM ALONE.  Talking to el cid grads across the southeast he is our future head coach.  Hope one day you guys will put us back on the schedule, heck we will give you a better game than Elon.

I got to see Ryan this spring, as he stopped by the high school that I am coaching at. He said he is really enjoying it up there and he seems to be doing really well. I'm happy to see former teammates making into college coaching so quickly.

Rezz I'm sorry we didn't film the speech but we will next time he comes to speak.  I will call the Gainesville guys to see if they taped the one is Gainesville.  We would give you guys a lot better game than UCF... well atleast The Citadel alumni would think so.  You guys are doing a great job on this board ours has a far way to come after being on this board the last few nights.

Citdog, thanks for your post. It's nice to know that our football alums are having a positive influence. And I'd love to see a USF football alum become head coach at The Citadel -- it's a fine program in a fine I-AA league. Heck, you guys beat us once. That's more than East Carolina, North Carolina, Syracuse, UCF, Houston, or Auburn can say.

Citdog,

Have you ever made it up to Tampa for a game?
