Fans by now know the legend of Tim Tebow by rote: he plays quarterback as well as anyone in America, sings on stage with the stars of country music, makes girls swoon every time he smiles. During spring break, Tebow added a new facet to his fame. In an impoverished village outside General Santos City in the Philippines, Tebow helped circumcise impoverished children. On the Friday of a weeklong

As Greg said, "Tim wasn't paid for his work.  But he did receive tips!"

Most college kids go to the beach to check out the hotties.

Tebow goes to third world nations to handle kid's wieners.

Tells me all I need to know about him.

Some reason this just makes me hate him even more. I mean, cmon, at this point it just seems like he's trying to hard to be loved by all  ::). Plus, many students go on alternative spring break trips and give up their precious free time to volunteer. He's not the only one.

He's been volunteering in the Philippines for years now with his family. He's been going on Summer Mission trips there for a while and I think he was even born there...

Yes, but how many of the others also turn water into wine on their spring breaks ...?

I guess that when Tebow's solid citizenry causes us to chafe we choose to go the ridicule-route.

He is an outstanding individual who has lived this type of exemplary life long before he ever thought of being a sports star on the national stage.

And yes, he does so because of his love for Jesus Christ.

It's really going to chafe folks when he comes out of the closet, then, isn't it?

If USF had a kid that won a Heisman trophy and seemed to be a real good guy then this board would be all gaga about him.  Further we would be rightfully upset if other people tried to tear him down.  He seems like a good character kid.  Hope he lives up to what the media bills him to be in his personal life.

I do have a small rash but I wouldn't call it a full out chafe ....
