a dollar more a gallon. What would that mean.......

Lets just look at the NC state Game

650 miles away

650 miles back

1300 miles total. 30 miles to the gallon.

you will use about 44 gallons of gas both ways. So if its a dollar more a gallon you are talking about $44 extra dollars. If that makes that much of a difference you prob should not go even if gas prices dont go up.

Trust me I make more than enough money if prices go up but that doesnt mean I want to pay it

my point was that if people want to go and can they will. The jump in gas prices is not a reason to stay home.

I don't see where the cost of gas is a real issue. I know there are people who distribute the cost among participants, and there are those who budget for these weekend getaways.

Remember, as Americans, we have a long and storied history of liking to whine and moan about stuff. So we'll complain about the cost of gas, as we wheel our single-occupancy vehicle of choice through the daily commute. We'll pay for the gas, complain about it, but we'll still hit the road.

Same with road trips. The point of the road game (to me) is that it is a weekend-getaway, and as such, the budget is not

such that gas/hotel/tickets/meals/entertainment need to be accounted for. It's a vacation. The benefit of relaxing more than offsets the price of gas.

The gas prices won't change any of our planned road trips.  None of our away games are anywhere near as far as El Paso!
