LOL ... Someone on another board in here was questioning the disdain that many of us have for UCF fans. This thread is the type drivel that we have had to put up with for YEARS on here with them ..... only the big difference here is that they actually beat us at something so they don't sound as ridiculous as they usually do.... no matter how meaningless a game it was.

Now to the UCF fans, USF does basically own you in almost every sport and no matter how you go about talking about recruiting, it only matters what happens on the fields of play.  

Each school is doing well, but they do have different missions it appears.  USF is about winning and there is nothing wrong with that, UCF is trying to have the perfect image, which in my mind is sending the wrong message to their fans.  They want to play with the big boys but don't want to get dirty like them.  You can't talk about getting good grade kids all the time and expect to beat BCS teams that only want the best athletes.  Until now, USF has done nothing wrong, so their way of doing it seems to be better.  I say until now because the NCAA is looking very closely at USF about now for two reasons.

APR - USF had a 917 APR and was on the same level as Washington State which lost 7 scholarships.  I am not sure how USF did not lose any scholorships, but if they are under again, they will lose at least that or more, the NCAA is going to watch what USF does there.

Gus Gilcrist - the hiring of a street agent and giving him an unposted job in this economy where budget cuts are costing Universities to cut jobs only raised a red flag on a coach that was thought to live in the grey area at Arkansas.  With both VT and Maryland asking the ACC President to look into this situation, the NCAA will not be far behind.  This is a sad attempt to compete with the big boys of the Big East and it only shines a light on a program that probably does not want it.  

Now Vega and others will disagree, but facts are facts and what I posted above are just that.

Last night was a great game.  Vega - you've lost a lot of credibility with me going back to the Clanton thread on the prospect board.  You seem to know a lot about the game - but have an incredible bias.  Why did Clanton choose UCF?  Your analysis - he didn't want to compete against the best.  My analysis (which incidentally matches what he said) - he liked the fan support. 

First off you must have not read what I said last night? I clearly gave credit to ucf for their fan support. The Atmosphere was great and as I said USF can take a lesson from that. I know Coach Heath and Coach Hipsher were blown away by what they wlked into last night and were envious of it too.

I clearly wrote or least wrote that I SEE WHY CLANTON CHOSE UCF OVER USF. THE REASON WAS THE FAN SUPPORT!!! That's right this guy that you have lost respect for tossed out his pride and said just that. I said Keith made the right decision.

Guess what... I told the samething to my USF buddies at work after the game as well. We didn't deserve to win the game with our play and you all did end of story.

As for us I KNOW STAN DIDN'T TAKE THE LOST WELL AND NEITHER DID DOJO. Things will be changing in Tampa.

Coach Stan Heath is innocent until proven guilty. Everybody knows what he did, and I'm sure he knew what he was doing when he did it. As far as I'm concerned he was just clever enough to find a way to get a recruit. Even Duke BBall has taken note of this....

You should really learn a little more about college athletics before you put out a post like that. To call someone else post ignorant and you put out a post of facts with none attached is just stupid.

I will admit I don't follow VT but I know a little about Maryland and let me tell you they have far more problems internally and on the court then to be tossing dirt on USF. If the NCAA believed their side of the story then Gus Gilchrist wouldn't be playing this season at USF period. Like I said earlier take some time and catchup on your college athletics and get an eye opener about recruiting you will see Stan broke no rule when he hired Woody.

Now this is the 2nd time you brought up Stan maybe playing a little dirty at Arkansas and I'm CALLING YOU OUT ON THIS. Tell me what do you mean by that? If you are going to throw dirt on the man then have a reason to do so. Let me warn you that I know all about Stan at Arkansas and going back to his MSU days as a top recruiter and the Kent State situation.
