How can they start over when the fighting never ends?

Nice to see you recognize my work.  I'm flattered.

In all seriousness, this is quite a sad situation.  They should have tried a little Time, Love, and Tenderness.  Nothing heals a broken heart like those!

Stuff like this happens all the time, it all starts When a Man Loves a Woman

The driving without driver's license is a misdemeanor.  Do multiple occurrences of the same misdemeanor result in a felony charge?  I do not know enough about Florida law to answer that question.  Should I get out the law book and look it up?  If it is a felony, then that is one felony, not multiple felonies.

It is a felony, yes, and it is what he was charged with.

somewhere in the middle is the truth. We need to let them work their problems out in Private

The truth will come out like you say.  Unfortunately, for Ben, USF appears to have been a vehicle for an NFL career.  However, one can not stop from thinking that so many other students are more deserving than Ben; if the basis for the article holds true.  Cheating is a serious offense (academically).  I sincerely hope that Ben will step up and provide for his children (at least monetarily).

Academics are always first.  Sports are a very close 2nd!

I could care less about his personal life because its just that... his personal life. Cheating at school is the only thing about this matter that I care about and I hope it isn't proven to be true.

Ugh...

How do you figure he "abandoned" his kids????????!  Cuz of what "she said"??

As has been pointed out, he's been in El Paso for a Bowl game - that's not abandoning.  We also don't know if she has (or hasn't) played the "you're not welcome here!!"  "Don't come around here anymore!!"  "You'll never see your kids again!!"  cards yet...

His legal counsel has probably already advised him on whether he should or shouldn't go over there - based on info they have on the situation that we don't.

And btw - he got married when he was 17!!!  He was STILL in high school!!

Sounds to me like he "manned up" when he needed to - but hey, sometimes things just don't pan out...  Until the facts are out, no need to help Mrs EX-Moffit (and her clan) stir the pot.

ditto

I've got to question the 20 yr old adult hooking up and getting pregnant with a junior in high school.  At the time making the commitment was right.  Fast forward 6 years.  Ben is an adult.  He now realizes that the decisions he makes affect the rest of his life.  Marriage is no longer a vanity entering your senior year of high school.  You're no longer dating the cool older chick that cruises the high school parking lot.  Now you are moving on with your life.  In the meantime the wife is living the same life in Bushnell.  She probably has changed in more ways than one since they got pregnant.

Unfortunately I would have a hard time not making the same decision.  Luckily I wore the Jimmy hat, didn't have kids, and don't have to.

Bravo, exactly what I was thinking!!  And how do we know that Ben didn't have his friend Jimmy with him and there was some sort of accident  (finger nail in Jimmy's hat?).  Very suspect!

Something just completely stinks about her whole story...  There are just sooooooooooooo many things wrong with it on her end.

I mean - from Mike's point of her being 20 and hooking w/ a 17 yr old high school kid...  wth??  He was married while still in high school - to a 20 yr old woman!!  :P

Getting her whole family involved in the matter - the sister, their mom - all onboard with the alleged 'cheating'??  My siblings and I may have gotten into trouble in our youth - but man - our parents would never just sit idly by!  again - wth???

I love how they're both on the taxpayer's dime - as a prop appr "data specialist" and a school teacher - but they can squeeze in time to AT WORK to do his assignments?    Not too mention, the sister - a teacher - forging education documents??  LOL Niceeeeee!!

Oh - and then she starts throwing in the Christ card??!  Are you KIDDING ME?!?!?

Who knows what really happened w/ the 'academic' stuff - hopefully, if anything, it was just spell-checking / proof-reading - editorializing - etc...  Not sure how that will ever be substantiated.

But like I said in another post, this just sounds like the rantings of a manipulative stalker chick...

And while I don't have the stats (too lazy to look them up lol), it does feel like Ben's play did fall off around the time all of this is reported to have started.  There was the game where she was interviewed - everything was hunk-dory - he was playing like a madman...  and then soon after things fell off...

I was one of those that had a second of a thought like "hmmm - that's weird - where's the wife" during the Senior night...  and his play just seemed to be off - and has been.

If he has been living the high-life and living it up w/ some new hottie coed etc etc etc, you'd think things would be different - he'd be more on fire - more upbeat - playin harder.

For all we know the guy's reallying hurting (over something she did - or just missing his kids - or both).  Man - look at the bags under his eyes in that Senior night pic - he just looks beat down...

Purely speculation of course, but yeah - there's definitely alot more to the story - and just the fact that Ben is taking the highroad w/ 'no comments' is proof enough to me that he's not the POS she and her clan are trying to make him out to be.

Seems more and more like he was just some poor kid that got used by this woman - and now that her meal ticket has grown up, she's worried that her payday may not pan out, she's going all Britney on him.  There's no logical reason what so ever that she should go to the papers...  And why NOW??  Why not 2 years ago??  Why not the beginning of the season??  Why not during the game when she was interviewed??  Maybe cuz she was still reaping the benefits??  Or, gee, cuz now she thinks Christ is watching her - unlike before - and she wouldn't want to upset Christ...  ::)

All the best to ya Ben Moffit - I hope in the end everything works out for you and your kids.
