Why is it they always put down our conference, but when these "big time" schools need a new coach them come to our neighborhood?

That makes four, count'em, four, Big East football coaches that have chosen to stay where they are rather than leave for the first "major" program that came calling:

Edsall (Georgia Tech)

Leavitt (Alabama, Kansas State)

Rodriguez (Alabama)

Schiano (Miami, Michigan)

It is a tremendous positive for the Big East conference that its current elite coaches would rather stay in the Big East than head for Tuscaloosa, Ann Arbor, Coral Gables, and other such places.

I think the upcoming battles among these four coaches, and maybe Brian Kelly if he stays at Cincinnati for any length of time, will define the future of the conference.

I don't see Robinson or Wanny getting any calls soon.  Kelly may also get a call from UM, apparently he has ties.

Not to mention Petrino bolting for the NFL last year.  That is 5/8 of the Big East's 'established' coaches being bantered with the heavyweights.
