Does anyone else think USF has an ugly campus?

Maybe it's improved since I was a student in the mid-90s, but my impression of the campus was "random and unorganized." And the main entrance from Fowler Avenue seemed almost Soviet: a long straight drive, named after a political loyalist, leading only to a bland rectangular building.

When was the last time you were on campus?

They've changed a lot and it looks great in my opinion.

That being said, I fully expected to see USF on this list... having seen the list now I think USF is light years beyond those schools.

I graduated in 96 and the campus (was there this past fall) looks much better.  More trees, more green and going away from the "yellow/beige" brick used on the administration building.

The new ROTC building is tight as is the Alzheimer's center off Fletcher.

One thing that USF was built upon was white brick, and is the only Florida public university to have white as its main color. Not onyl that, but we also use the same architecture firm for everything now to ensure the same modern look on any new projects.

Amen, brother.  I thought the same thing the first time I was there in the 1990.  Very industrial/utilitarian, with no coherent architectural theme other than what might be described as "functional box."

In the intervening years someone's been working pretty hard to reverse that trend.  I still wouldn't call it a beautiful campus, but it's much improved.
