USF Ultimate

The USF men's ultimate team (aka South Florida Scallywags) is hitting the road for the first time this year. We're going to the 3rd Annual Kennel Kickoff hosted by UCF. It's just a pre-season tournament, but it gives everyone a chance to see what we need to work on by January, and what the rookies can do in a game.

This weekend we'll be taking 25 people to go play along with 8 rookies. It should be a fun tournament with some good competition from our section. We start play at 9:30 on Saturday playing one of our rivals Miami, followed by Florida, a midday bye round, and finish off the day playing Georgia Southern. Sunday morning we move into bracket play based on Saturday's results. (Don't worry, we're driving back Saturday for the football game)

Our goal this year is to make it to the second round of the post-season (regionals), which will take alot of hard work. We're looking forward to another great season.

It's somewhat of an ultimate tradition to have a name different than the schools. But we did keep the bulls in our team logo (sortof):

Wisconsin...Hodags

well, yeah that's what most people call it, but the actual name is just "ultimate". Something having to do with Frisbee being a trademarked name, and the fact that we don't actually play with discs made by Frisbee (we play with DiscCraft).
