Gator Bowl

Jan. 1 / 1 p.m. Jacksonville, Fla. CBS

Tie-Ins: ACC No. 3 vs. Big 12/Big East/Notre Dame

Projection: Boston College vs. South Florida

Personally - I'd LOOOOVE to see this game!!  Especially after all the hype that BC got for "deserving" their #2 - and how they "proved" it w/ the 2 mins of gameplay in the 4th...  ::)

I'd love to see the Bulls beat up on another ACC team!!  ;D

As dissapointing as we may have looked in the past 3 games, I think we would match up well vs. BC.  We just haven't been able to stop the power running game, BC passes a lot, that normally plays to our advantage.

:throwup2

Also, I read on Greg's blog that The Gator Bowl is leaning toward a Big Twelve team this year.  I would love to play BC in the Gator Bowl, but I don't see that happening.

I'd rather go to the CarCrap bowl than the International... But hey, can we go to Papajohns.com again and beat the **** out of UCF again?

Interesting thing about writers bowl predictions is they match their conference standings to the bowl selection (i.e. BCS, Gator/Sun, Car Care, Toronto, Pizza Bowl.  In reality, the bowl committees can select who they want as long as team has at least 7 wins.  For example, a 7-5 UL team over a 10-2 UConn team (hypothetical example).  With most teams in the BE seem to be targeting a 4-3 finish, it will be an interesting bowl selection year.  It will come down more to how many fans the bowl committees expect to travel, local interest in the team, and TV that may determine who goes where.  Cincinnati could be short changed and be sent to Toronto again due to lack of fan base who travels.  The Car Care Bowl will be interesting as they would almost certainly want UL and then Rutgers especially give USF played their 2 years ago.

Either way, good luck the rest of the year.  Keep your heads up and Finish Strong (especially against Sadexcuse).

Hate to be a traitor but if Mandel's predictions happen I have no choice but to go to the Capital One Bowl and see the Gators. No way am I flying all the way up to Canada to see the Bulls play Ball State and probably end up losing because imagine how hard it would be to get these guys up to play Ball State when they thought they'd be in a BCS bowl.

There is plenty of evidence that a Big 12 team will probably be chosen by the Gator Bowl so that they can get Notre Dame another year. In this prediction they have Kansas going, but if Texas doesn't make the BCS they will be available, so will Missouri plus by taking one of those great teams they will leave themselves a shot at getting Notre Dame another year. Therefore, no Gator Bowl for Bulls probably but I hope they somehow get there.

You're not being a traitor.  Just true to your school.
