The side of me that fears all things government agrees with that sentiment.  However, the optimistic side of me says that the cost is a good "economic investment" in recruiting and image.  Think about it this way, we get to boast the largest stadium and the largest student section in the Big East!  That is intimidating for opposing teams to have to run past those crazy kids and into that larger than life stadium.    

As long as you still need a valid student ID at the gate, I think there is no harm in students selling the tickets (meaning another student gets to use it).  They were willing to spend the time to get it, they should be able to recomp their expense (and turn a profit if possible) if they wind up not being able to or wanting use them.  You know any student that's willing to pay $75, then they are going to be very motivated to be there.  When lower bowl tickets go for 120+ on ebay and stubhub, it seems a pretty fair price to me.  Capitalism at it's finest.

if students are selling the tickets and making a profit, how is that exploitation?  one student makes a profit at the expense of another.  sounds like a wash to me.

Students pay an athletic fee which entitles them to a ticket (as long as the supply demands). They should not be forced to pay $75 dollars for a ticket they should be getting for free.

Oh and explain to me how I am "exploiting students"?

I was one of the guys that camped out all night to be first in line to get my Cincinatti tickets,I saw that morning 600 students get in line to get their tickets. And to see this ******* wannabe fan,trying to sell his student ticket just irks my blood. If you want make buck buy a couple tickets somewhere else and sell them. But don't take a free ticket from student who might get chance to get lower bowl ticket so you can sell it at a higher price.Thats wrong!!You are self-fish *******,fairweather and bandwagon fan.

...all u old foges need to ease up and let the college kids make a little cash. i know most of u graduated in the 1970s and ****, but  we all pay our athletic fees and are entitled to our tickets, and thus to do with our tickets as we please.  yes, it's a violation of school policy, but only if u RAT PEOPLE OUT!

look, i've had NO problem getting lower bowl student tickets and companion tickets for every home game.  people who really want them will make an effort get them, so it's not really a "students wait in line and don't get tickets because people are selling them!!!" issue.

and no... i don't sell my tickets. i go to every game i possibly can.  i'm just saying...  calm down.  e-mailing the athletics department is weaksauce.

Hardly unless we have some older student posting here. You have to be a student to be able to access facebook accounts. SO it is a student turning in another student.
