he hits 10 field goals in a row. I am not saying he lost the game but hitting those FGs would sure help.  9 for 16 for the season is not going to cut it.

But he does do a good job punting.

Just a reminder, Alvarado was not brought in as a kicker.  He is a punter.  He is kicking because other people couldn't get the job done.  Worth remembering.

This is actually Leavitt's fault. He was stubborn and didn't want to give preferred walk-on Kyle Bronson a schollie after his freshman year (a year in which he overtook Mike Benzer and was consistent). Delbert has done a really good job with punting but is just too inconsistent with his field goal kicking duties. I'm hoping he's able to turn it around.

We have gotten into this 1000 times on here, IIRC, if Bronson would have waited until the fall semester he would have been on scholarship. There was something with the numbers that we couldnt do it at the time, but said at the end of spring/start of fall of that year he would be, and he left anyway.

if we really wanted him we could have found a way to keep him.

I love that Delbert has a strong leg. I just wish he could get more accuracy. He does a good job a punting. Dont worry USF fans because help is on the way for the FG. I believe we just got a commitment from a very good FG kicker right after the WVU game.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
