If there's someone out there who solely cares about the welfare of the Big East conference, man, Rutgers is a poison pill. I'm not saying we would have won out, but what with this win and last year's against Louisville, Rutgers has just about destroyed any chance of the BE being mentioned in the same breath as the "elite" conferences (no, I don't believe they are "elite" either but perception and all that). Good for them...yadda, yadda, yadda...but I don't look forward to reading the "expert" opinions anytime soon.

"good of the conference" ?

maybe not.

but they sure are good for the BCS.

now we can resume the regular rotation of Ohio State/LSU/USC/etc. in the championship game.

The media is going to be brutal on this one.  No matter, if we win out and win our BCS game it will still be a good year for us and the conference.

Hey, I'm an altruistic kind of guy.  ;)

Even the commie doesn't agree with that. No team is ever going to just roll over and play dead for the "good of the conference."

You do realize I was speaking hypothetically, right? I just meant that IF there was someone out there that cared more about the conference than the individual teams, Rutgers would be their worst nightmare these last 2 seasons. I'm not saying that I, or any rational fan, feel this way though.

"good of the conference?"

By that thinking we have been horrible for the conference.  Knocked off Louisville in '05 and prevented two BCS berths for the Big East last year.

I think we are the ones who have hurt the conference with our wins vs Louisville and then WVU the next two years.

What do I say to that?

Go Bulls!
