You guys know that if we had lost by a field goal, all the talk here would be that we were the better team just need a kicker. They are sulking after a loss, let them. Their defense was awesome. Let's just enjoy our victory, and be thankful we aren't Hurricane fans.

You're really damned if you do, damned if you don't. If you are from the lowly Big East, everyone from the SEC/Big 10, etc, says your conference sucks, that you don't play anyone in bowl games, blah blah blah. Then, you hear all week before the game w/ a good SEC school how you haven't seen "SEC speed", you don't have the tradition, you can't play under the lights in front of 80k people and everything else. Then we go in, beat them, and all they can talk about is how badly they played, how crappy Auburn is this year, how if they had a good qb they would have beaten us. Guess what, sometimes a team is good enough to make your team look like crap and you just need to give credit where it is due.

They actually understand that we are an up and coming team. For those AU fans that were surprised we on, here is a bigger secret: You aren't the best team we have beaten in our last 4 games games. That would be WVU that was ranked #7 when we beat them last year. AU's offense isn't as good as WVU's last year and with the losses on their line plus the absence of Brad Lester they are far from being as good as the offense that WVU had last year as the #4 offense in the country. I think if you look at a comparison of how our defense played against WVU last year and on Saturrday night, AU shouldn't be surprised at the outcome. Here is the comparison: WVU GAME AUBURN1st Downs 13 30Total yards 310 291 Rushing Yards 132 125Yards/Rush 3.6 3.6Passing Yards 178 165Sacks 4 2Fumbles 2 3INTs 2 2Just because some of the AU fans didn't know about us, it doesn't make us an infereior team. Just as we had a tough time moving agaisnt their defense, they couldn't move on our D which includes the best lockdown CB tandem in the country, the country's (current) statistical leader in tackles for loss and sacks, plus a great, fast LB corp. The only thing we were lacking was a kicker that could put the ball through the uprights consistently. Any talk of an infereior team is ridiculous and it is being made an uninformed poster.

I saw that stat somewhere else and just thought it was a misprint. Are they counting first downs of drives (in other words where they didn't have to do anything but just snap the ball)? 30 is a huge number. Normally 20 is alot of 1st downs. They only converted about 4 3rd down conversions right? How is it they had 30 first downs. That is either a misleading stat or an inaccurate one. This is how many we earned or acquired. ESPN box score is correct. The Yahoo one must count every first down (after a punt, after a pick, after the opening kickoff, etc). That is really a stupid way of counting 1st downs.

Would you have preferred to write a $650,000.00 check to someone else instead?
