Here's a hint for all...Leavitt's defenses, and Burnham's too for that matter, have always been at their best throughout the years when they have dominant play from the interior line, usually from upperclassmen.  The defense is predicated on making space and allowing the LB's to roam and shoot gaps.  If Clebert has the type of year some expect, Cray comes out and plays like Cray, and George and Riley contribute....it will be possibly the best defense ever at USF.

We lose Nicholas and St. Louis, and in most years that's concerning but with 4 seniors manning the interior DL, if they play up to potential they will create the space necessary for the new LB's to make plays.

Doesn't hurt to have a couple of elite BE corners and some fast & big safeties with experience either.  Above I meant to say Clebert playing at a high level is great for MOFFIT so he can roam sideline to sideline.  If the DL can put heavy pressure on the opposing QBs and our Bulls D can stuff the run, that will equal a few extra INTs or really banged up opposing QBs in the 4th qtr if not second stringers.

That's for sure Doug, those corners are great at the line and covering in the first 10-20 steps of a receiver.  That will mean a QB having to hold the ball even for an extra half second which means more things our coaches can do with the defense.  We can actually cheat up a safety knowing that if we can get pressure on a QB quick enough we don't need to worry about the corners needing extra help, which means an extra man for blitz opportunities...all very good options.  We've got experience and depth at all the right positions this year and if McKenzie can come close to Nicholas, and he has the size and ability then whooaa nelly.
