It's not a big deal, nor should there be any punishment. However, it does alarm some potential character problems. Always seems like they start small and escalade. Hopefully he gets a good talking to and remembers that he is responsible for anything he does while at USF, no matter how minor it is.

An incident like this wouldn't hurt anyone at USF from a lowly student on probation to the star football player.

From a selfish perspective, my first concern is "what this does to football if this is the beginning of a problem.

Mike Ford, if you're reading this, do yourself a favor and keep yourself in check and out of trouble.  You have a future that can lead to something great for yourself.  Approaching life in a haphazard way will not result in favorable consequences.  Every day is full of choices; be wise.

Between this "issue" and Leavitt's honeymoon, the guy is probably running on no sleep, NO SLEEP!  :) Anyways, I hope the team as a whole learns from this experience and starts focusing on what is really important! However, if we based everything on past behavior with no chance of redemption, Carlton Hill would not be able to come back to Tampa.

Unfortunately, there may be more to come from the Law in S/W Florida concerning this fellow.  The area where he was arrested is a high crime area.  Either Ford must get away from this lifestyle or it will swallow him up.  Jim will not take a tough stance on this if it is the end of his criminality.

Word on the S/W Florida streets say Ford is just starting his criminal career....lets hope they are wrong.

Maybe it's nothing legally... but ******, how dumb do you have to be to drive a car without a license OR registration? There's no reason the registration should ever be out of the glove box.

that means he was arrested for driving a car that is not registered...meaning he never got a registration for the car...ever

:nope

Not off to a good start, no matter how "minor" this turns out to be.

All I know is, any time you are actually put in cuffs & arrested, "minor" is not the word to describe it.

Sure, he didn't commit a violent crime or anything, but an arrest is..............an arrest.

That's a bold statement from a simple traffic violation.

Minor traffic infractions are ones where no one goes to JAIL.  Unfortunately this is not a minor infraction.  In Florida - as  you already know - driving under these conditions WITH KNOWLEDGE is a quasi felony issue.
