I'm glad that my eyes have never had the mispleasure to grace the pages of the Orlando Sentinel. I've heard nothing but bad things about them, and this is coming from a community that reads the Tampa Tribune.

Alexander Hamilton is rolling over in his grave.

Is that an incorrect reference?

First one to get the answer gets to be Editor-in-Cheif of the Sentinel for a day.

_EI, Way to stand up for our University while diplaying such tact.

I just don't understand why they have to take cheap shots at USF all the time.  It's pathetic.

Wow, great work *EI.  ;D

Sentinel should stick to things they know about. Say, Mickey Mouse, for instance

The comment's incorrectness is compounded by the fact that it makes grossly ignorant medical assumptions. Firstly, AED's are only useful in situtations in which an individual is experiencing ventricular fibrillation; there are MANY emergency heart conditions for which an AED is completely useless. Secondly, young athletes are far more likely to suffer from a largely asymptomatic condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), in which they experience abnormal thickening of the heart walls, leading to reduced blood output per contraction (cardiac output). An AED can not help anyone suffering from an acute problem related to HCM. The article as a whole is not a terrible one, but the inclusion of these athletes as examples of situations in which AED's might help was a very, very poor decision. Folks who tend to benefit the most from AED's are adults, older than 40, typically in the 6th decade of life or older. That's because they tend to have medical problems predisposing them to ventricular fibrillation, whereas it is relatively uncommon for young adults and children to have that type of emergency heart situation. I think the author was just trying to start the article with anecdotal points, and showed massive ignorance as a result.

Orlando ****nel has no class.  Newspapers are loosing market share becauase of that crap.  People are turning to the web because of newpapers trying to push opinions down our throats.

Very well written and restrained.  Good way to represent.  Thanks.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
