If we wanted Huggins we could have gotten him.

You have to be a total clown to want to fire Woolard.  Geez, the guy has not even been here for three complete years yet.  He's done tons of good.

As far as him and the BB team, let's just see how it plays out.  He will do the correct thing with McCullum and I am confident if a change is made it will be a strong move that is good for the University given whatever constraints, budgetary or resource wise he has to work with.

His first big hire was Prado.  A relatively big name in college baseball that was still under contract at UL.  Woolard di what he had to do to get the guy he wanted and that made sense in a lot of ways for USF.  Many people have commented that Woolard is a Basketball guy.  The season is over, let's let the man do his stuff.  Woolard is the one guy I have the most confidence in to do the right thing for this program.

The answer isn't always to just go and fire anyone and everyone.  You have to deal with the realities of the world like budgets and actually going out and recruiting and interviewing candidates.

It's not the AD. it's the $$$$ issue. Can't get quality if you are willing to spend bargain basement prices.

As far as Woolard goes, my opinion is that he has done a solid job overall.

The football program's success is at least partially attributable to Woolard.

That being said, his hiring a few years ago was supposed to be a boon for the basketball program.  He came from St. Louis, who had been overachievers in men's basketball for quite some time.  Plus, he had to educate everyone as to what the heck a Billiken is.  At least everyone knows what a Bull is (if not a Golden Brahman).

So, I'm still holding out hope that he was the right guy for the position, and that he can find a way to put a competetive team on the court once again at USF (and by competetive, all I ask for is a spot in the conference tourney!!).

If he can't do that within the next 2-3 years, he needs to go.  But if he does what he needs to do in the next few days (you know what), then he'll have a vote of confidence from the overwhelming majority.

Overwhelming majority? ... Yeah, OK.  ::)

And just how exactly will this "vote of confidence" manifest itself?

Which part would that be?

The part that hasn't screwed anything up in the two years he's been here.

Hey, didn't say it has necessarily been a BIG part.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
